New Drupal module: Direct checkout by URL

At Ny Media we make our living using open source software. Which is why when we are able to give something back to the community we are relying on, we are glad to do so. Among many of our contributions are creating and maintaining modules for Drupal, so let's talk about one of these modules: Direct checkout by URL.

The module is fairly small, and serves one specific purpose: To be able to create a link that adds one or more products to your cart, and take you directly to the checkout step. This makes it possible (among other things) to create dynamic ads that only requires the user to complete the last step of the purchase process. This is useful, because reducing checkout steps, and friction in general, is the single most important factor to maximize your conversion rate.

We developed the initial module in cooperation with one of our clients, and it is now available in a stable version. It has documentation and test coverage, and the codebase is even ready for Drupal 9! Several community members have contributed patches to it, and it's already in use on a handful of other sites around the web. If you are looking for an easy way to direct your users to the checkout, give it a try!
